The Mallard is probably the most easily recogniseable duck in the world. It is common and very widespread. Its promiscuity has also given rise to many strange looking hybrids often seen around our lakes and parks. Its diet consists of seeds, acorns and berries, plants, insects and shellfish.
Eggs: 9-13
Incubation: 27-28 days
Fledging: 50-60 days
Maximum lifespan: 29 years
Length: 51- 62 cm
