Ontario Maerch 2009:
A memeber of the Goshawk family, this North American species ranges from Canada to Mexico.

The average adult male, weighs around 300g, is about 40cm long with a wingspan of 72cm.
The females are large reaching about 500g with a wingspan 85 cm.
The wings are short and rounded and the tail is long with dark bands. Adults have a distincive black cap, grey-blue upper pbody and pale undereside with fine, red-brown bars.
