This spider builds a vertical orb web with vertical zig-zag band of silk and catches insects such as grasshoppers.

The male is much smaller than the female will can sometimes be seen waiting near a female's web for her to complete her final moult after which she will mate. If he is quick her jaws will still be soft and he may escape becoming a meal!
