This is the UKs smallest bird being just 9cms from the tip of its beak to the end of its tail. It is a widespread and relativley common species associated with conifers. In winter they can be seen in with large flocks of tits. It feeds on insects.

Incubation: 15-17 days
Fledging: 17-22 days
Maximum lifespan: 7 years
