Photo taken August 2004

By July - August juvenile Bluetits can be seen everywhere. They can be recognised by their yellow face feathers instead of white as in the adult. They quickly learn to feed from garden feeders. They are at their highest numbers during this time but mortality is high and they are at risk from cats, sparrowhawks and magpies.
