The Teal is a small, fast flying, highly gregarious, surface feeding duck. It is not particularly common but can be found in many widespread places particularly where there are marshes. There are high numbers of winter migrants. Size 34-38cm (13-15in)
Teal make their nest on the ground in thick cover adjacent shallow pools and ponds.
Eggs: 8-11
Incubation: 21-23 days
