From Argentina. Diving duck that feeds on aquatic plants and insects. These birds are also known as 'Stiff-tails', which refers to the males long tail feathers that are erected at 90 degrees to the body during the courtship display. The Ruddy Duck can lay up to fourteen eggs,which are unusually large for such a small duck.
