The badger is one of the most well known of British mammals, Closely related to weasels and otters.

It is mainly nocturnal and semi- hibernates during the worst of the winter although will sometimes emerge during mild spells.

It is a large powerful animal with the larger male being up to 76cm long.

They live in communal setts which can be established for a hundred years or more.

They are completly omnivorous eating anything edible they come across from birds eggs to fruit.

This one has been tempted by peanut butter sandwiches.
