Our largest mamal.
Red deer have been in the UK for around 11,000 years,
In summer their coat varies from reddish brown to brown, and througout winter is brown or grey.

Adult Males (Stags) can reach 90-190kg, standing 100-140cm at the shoulder.
Adult Females (Hinds) are smaller weighing 60-120kg, and standing 100-120cm.

The Stags have Antlers with lots (up to 16) of branches, the number of branches (points) increasing with age.

Red Deer can live up to 18 years.
