Yucca filamentosa ( Adam's Needle) is considered hardy in all but the coldest areas.
These long lived evergreen shrubs/small trees with long strap shaped leaves, will grow to around 750mm high with a 1 metre spread.
They bear 50-70mm long bell shaped flowers in July/August at the end of plume shaped panicles, which can extend to 2 metres high.
They should be planted out in a sunny spot in suitable weather between October and March in any garden soil.
Propagation
Remove and replant rooted suckers in March/April, pot them up, and grow on for a couple of years until established, then plant them out into a permanent sunny spot.
