Cultural notes

Sow seeds in March/April @18C. It is advantageous to soak the seeds in fresh water for approx 24hours before sowing.

When seedlings are large enough to handle, plant up into 70mm pots of potting compost
(equiv JI.1).Place in frost free coldframe to harden off.

Plant out 300mm apart when all fear of frosts have gone.(May/June).They require a sheltered sunny spot against a fence or wall fitted with trellis or wires.

These plants can grow to 3metes plus in height.
