A half hardy to hardy perennial depending upon location in the UK.
Plant out at 400-500 centres in March/April in a sunny sheltered spot with free draining soil, (they are intolerant to wet conditions).
The 50mm long flowers appear in June/July on plants around 600mm high.
Cut the plants down to ground level in October and protect the crowns with cloches. Alternatively leave the tops on as winter protection and cut down to ground level April/May.
Cuttings; Take 75mm long non-flowering lateral shoots in August/September, inserting them into a 50-50 potting compost and sharp sand mixture and place in a cold frame.
Plant out rooted cuttings the following April/May.
Seed; Sow February/March in seed compost, maintaining a temperature of 18*C(64*F).
Prick out seedlings when large enough to handle and harden off in a cold frame until planting out time in May
