Beardless Iris

Apogon means Beardless

Cultural notes

Plant the rhizomes about 25 mm deep and 600mm apart in October.

They prefer a sunny or partially shaded position.

They also do quite well as marginal pool plants set approx 150mm above water level.

They dislike lime, a neutral to acid soil is best with added peat or leaf-mould.

Avoid hoeing around the plants to prevent damage to the shallow root system.

A peat or bark mulch in the Spring will assist in keeping weeds at bay.

Cut the foliage off when it turns yellow.

The rhizomes can be divided after flowering
