Associated with the roots of broad leaved trees, often found where the ground has been disturbed or after a fire.

Edible - delicous has a nutty, smoky, earthy, flavour. Just sautee in butter.


Must be cooked to destroy toxins!
Also please be very sure you have not found the False Morel (Gyromitra Esculenta) which usualy described as poisonous, and sometimes as deadly.
