"Lungwort", "Oysterleaf", "Virginia Cowslip", & and "Roanoke Bells" are other common names for this plant which is widespread throughout the Northern States of the USA and parts of Canada.
Internet research suggests considerable variability of length of flower 'trumpet' and colour, some being white or pink.

It belongs to the Boarage family (Boraginaceae).
