Family Boraginaceae

An impressive plant from the Chatham Islands , New Zealand, reaching 600mm (24 in) high.
The flowers are pale to dark blue, up to 19mm (3/4 inch) in diameter.

Suitable for cultivation in the UK, a recent report tells of it growing by a North-facing wall, in Derbyshire, at 600 ft (180 m) above sea level.
A white cultivar is also available.

The Chatham Islands are a group of 10 Pacific Islands east of South Island New Zealand. approximately a 1 hour flight from Wellington or Christchurch! Due to their proximity to the International Date Line the Chathams are the first to see the light of every new day, you may remember them from the millennium celerations
