A fungus that is often found in rings. The thick, fleshy convex cap matures flat, often with a depressed centre and an inrolled edge. Darker at the centre and often with a white bloom. Cream coloured gills. Stem is paler and thick with a swollen base. Smells strongly of turnip.
Cap 8-20cm, stem 5-12cms.
FOund in leaf litter of deciduous and coniferous woodland, autumn to early winter.
