Easily identified by its aniseed smell and blue green colour. The young cap is convex with an inrolled margin. Older flat caps dry to pale cream with a wavy margin. The stems colour is similar to the cap with a white base.
Cap 3-6cm stem 4-8cm. usually found in leaf litter of beech or oak, late summer to autumn.
Edible, best dried.
