Photo taken October 2004, Bolton

Small white/tan bell shaped fungus that retains an umbo in old specimens that dries a dirty white. The waxy margins are often grooved when wet. The gills are cream and well spaced. Straw coloured stem is tough and pliable. Cap 2-5cms, stem 3-6cms. To be found early summer to late autumn.

NOTE: This mushroom is edible and used dried in soups and stews. Can be confused with Ivory Clitocybe.
