Genus of Primulas grown for their wide range of unusual colours and categories. Hardy. Suitable for an Alpine border but often grown in 4in/5cm clay pots for display, in soil consisting of 8 parts John Innes No 2 loam, l part moss peat and l part 6mm grit. Strong sun can be harmful to the flowers.
