(Often incorrectly named Amaryllis.) Large bulb usual grown indoors for Xmas flowering. Plant in a heavy pot, leaving one-third of bulb showing. Place in good light and keep soil moist. After flowering place in a cool spot to dry out and let leaves die back. Repot the following autumn.
Can be grown out of doors min 13-15C. Lift and dry in autumn, Replant following spring. Propagate by seed or offsets in spring.
