Cultural notes

Plant out Cortaderia in April in any well-drained fertile soil, for best results choose a sheltered sunny site.

These plants can grow to 3 metres (10ft) high and should be planted at not less than 2 metres (6ft) apart.

Remove the dead leaves in Spring, it is advisable to wear gloves for this exercise as the leaf edges are quite sharp.

Propagation
Increase plants by division in April planting out immediately
