Common name: Bedding Wallflower.
Hardy Biennial.
Sow in May - July in seed drills, 30cm apart.
Prefers sun and an adequate amount of lime in the soil.
Thin out to approx 4cm apart.
Plant out in the Autumn when plants are approx 6cm high.
Will self seed or take softwood cuttings in summer.
Fragrant. Available in Yellow, red and orange.
Prone to club root disease - remove and burn if this occurs.
NB: There are also short lived perennial varieties named 'Bowles Mauve' and 'Bredon', which is gold.
