Cultural notes

Best grown in Greenhouse or in 250-300mm pots of JI.3 in a Conservatory.They will reqire training up trellis,wires or canes and can reach heights of 6 meters.

n.b. Some of the hardier varieties may succeed outdoors in protected parts of the south

They reqire light shade and a humid atmosphere in Summer.This can be achieved by spraying the plants with fresh water.In winter they require a minimum temperature of 10C.

Propagation

In early Spring sow seeds in seed compost and germinate @ 21C. Prick out into 70mm pots of potting compost when large enough to handle.Pot on as necessary until they are in their final pots

Take 75-100 mm stem cuttings in July/August inserting same into equal parts(by volume) peat & sand and propagate at 18C.

When rooted pot up into 70mm pots of JI.2, pot as necessary until they are in their final pots

Pruning

Prune in February/March by thinning out over grown stems from soil level and the spurs/laterals back to 150mm from main stem
