I have re-potted plants this morning to bring into the conservatory over winter. I had taken a plant out of a plant pot and was sorting out the roots and without realising it was holding a toad. I dropped him back into the pot. He was a bit slow, I built up the soil and he managed to get out and disappear into the undergrowth. Will he be all right as I obviously disturbed his hibernation?

I wouldn't think there is any need to worry Linda, I am sure Mr Toad will have found himself another suitable place to hibernate.

Thank you for your reply. At least we have only just started with the really cold weather, first frost last night.

The same thing happened here Linda. However, we found that Mr Toad just walked away and nestled under a pile of leaves. We have seen him regularly since so I would imagine your toad will be quite O.K emoticon
