Does any one have any tips for Autumn gardening? The forecast is for a bad winter so perhaps we should be protecting our tender plants by mulching and wrapping/lining our containers with bubble film? Also, when I plant my containers up with bulbs I stick a few springs of yellow-leaved evergreen shrubs (choisya, eunonymous) into the top of them to provide some winter colour. Sometimes they root and I get new plantlets to plant out in the spring.

That's a good idea to add a bit of colour to bulb pots Madge. Well, if it's bad weather, my idea is to stay indoors with a couple of plant catalogues and a nice cup of tea! emoticon
