hi, I have the scaffolding in the ground, and covered in tubing, I noticed that the plastic tubing on other tunnels does not go to the ground, but about 5 ins above, so that the plastice rests on a scaffolding board. does it make a difference to the end result..

Hi, the answer to your question is no, it makes no difference.
Any exposed metal pole that may come into contact with the cover needs hot spot tape on.

Regards Alan

Our cover is buried in the soil all the way round. It makes putting a new cover on a lot harder, but it is more secure to our way of thinking. The problem (to us) with a board is fastening the cover to the board. The normal method is to wrap the cover round a piece of roofing lath (2 ins by 1 ins unplaned ). This is then nailed to the scaffolding boards.
Hope this helps!

Oh and one thing we were advised was to put the cover on the metal on a really warm day when the material was hot and fully expanded, that way in winter when you need the cover to be tight to keep it undamaged, the pvc will have shrunk (as we all do) with the cold.
