Just wondered what herbs people grow and eat (that includes wild plants of course). Are you enjoying any at this time of year?

I have year round parsley and rosemary and some thyme. I love fresh basil, lots of parsley and fennel tea is a favourite too. Last year I discovered sorrel, never to be lost from my repertoire. I bought one plant of the ordinary green sorrel and grew a whole load from seed of broad leaved sorrel - lovely in salads, but you need to pick the leaves young. As a bonus it's a decorative plant!

I grow lots of parsley, rosemary, chives, and since taking up bird rescue, grow lots of plants for the birds - clover, chickweed, etc - have to grow these in pots up high though cos of Pav who decimates all and sundry if he can get to them

In the growing months out in the garden, I grow basil and chives. They both get haircuts several times during the growing season and get washed and frozen for winter use. Some gets used fresh, and I give some away. Would like to grow bronze fennel and dill for ornamental purposes.

The only herbs that I have grown really successfully are Bay, Rosemary and Sage.

I can never keep Thyme going, and mint is always slug fodder

Last year, I used a large zinc bath, filled it with some drainage before topping up with compost and planted it up with a variety of herbs including Tarragon, Parsley and others. Sage is the only thing to have survived the winter.

I've allways grown lots of Rosemary and mint. But this yr I'm going to start a herb plot and hope to try all manner of herbs.
Mainly a fruit man really, but with lots of space to play with I may as well have a go at something different for a change.

I did have Rosemary but it died, I have spearmint mint and Parsley, Basel, Thyme. I am trying to get sage as its very good for mouth ulcers, rinsing your hair especially for grey hair, so I have been informed.

I have Rosemary, Fennel, Sage, Chives, Garlic, Golden Thyme and Sorrel growing in my backyard. I've got one of those hanging growbags by the backdoor, in which I've got Mint, Thyme, Basil and Sage. It means I don't have to go far to get some herbs when it's raining. I love to cook with herbs and a salad is really nice with a few fresh herbs chopped into it.
I have a very vigorous bay tree growing in my front garden. It smells so gorgeous when I prune it. I put some of the clippings on the front wall, so people can take them if they wish.
