I have a lovely garden with lots of shade and tall trees. On the north side of the house, I have a patio, surrounded by a white picket fence, with lots of potted flowers on raised benches. This is my afternoon retreat, under a big ash tree. I have a wooden glider swing that seats four people, and a round glass table with an umbrella and four chairs, for dining. For additional company, I have extra black chairs and a big market umbella. I also have what I call the "grotto". A garden bench, tucked into the foliage, with a wooden coffee table in front of it, surrounded by a rustic twig fence. This where I feed an assortment of birds and squirrels each day. On the south side of the house, I have a small raised deck, with four chairs, where I have my morning coffee and read the newspaper, also under a large market umbrella, surrounded by red geraniums and cedar trees in pots. Under a pear tree on the back lawn, is another nice seating area for two. I have a number of iron hanging poles in the ground, holding beautiful flowering pots. Three birdbaths for my feathered friends. I love my garden but because I have MS now, my husband has to do most of the work. But theres no place Id rather be. A perfect place to be, reading, spending time with a friend or loved one, or my cat and dog, or just listening to the birds and the bees. Except when the snow is three feet deep and the wind is howling. Thank goodness for the warmth of summer!
