Hello to all my friends,
This is a new Profile i am adding. My garden is probably really a small garden to some people, maybe. Its 40ftx25ft,to me it does not seem small,as i pack alot into it,and i have known some people to have a vast amount of ground, but nothing much in it, but lawn. But there you go.My hubby and i have been retired now eight years,i am the plantswoman,or gardener, hubby helps to please me with doing the things i cant do, odd job man,and now promoted to **Lawnsman**back and front garden, not large lawns, but enough to look after now we are**MATURE** i like that word better than the word**OLD**We have been married for 46 years now, have two married daughters, and one single son,who has been in the R.A.F. for 12 years now,as a Aero- Paramedic.
We all love animals and wildlife,My son used to be a Wildlife Keeper, till he went into the forces,my youngest daughter was a riding instuctress, till she had her accident, and has had a vast amount of different animals in her young life, from horses, donkeys, goats lop eared rabbits, and now she shows her guinea pigs, all colous, short and long haired too,and is doing well with showing, she has shown her horses, goats and lopp-eared rabbits too. My garden is my therapy, and my hobby,i love it,have all sorts of plants, and the garden is planted to encourage the wildlife into the garden, two small ponds,no fish allowed, for wildlife only.Have frogs, toads, newts, etc. We love all birds, and encourage them all into the garden. Have no pets as we have lost ours through age to them, but my youngest daughter has two dogs, six cats,i rat,and about 40 guinea pigs, and she breeds them too. for showing. My favourite plant in my garden is my Big eight foot Brugmansia, seven years old,has daffodil yellow 12 inch trumpets on it
has had 54 blooms on it this year(2001)THAT WAS THE FIRST FLUSH,and now it has 130 blooms, all blooming at the same time(september)maybe more. Photo on **OGGIES ALBUM** I have won three garden competitions,a first,a second, and the last i went in for was a first again, that was 1989(1)-------1998(2)--------1999(1) Then i thought i would pack up while i was still winning LOL.It certainly was a boost to all the hard work i have put into it,over the years. Hope this profile of mine has not been to boring, Thanks for reading it.
Olive.
